First time in a long time did I try my hand at cooking and I am glad to share that the result of cooking Sweet and Sour prawns was delightful which my entire family enjoyed. Without further ado, I present the pre-requisites and the recipe:-

Ingredients:
- Peeled and de-veined large prawns – 200 gms
- Salt, sugar – to taste/marinate
- White vinegar
- 1 whole egg
- Oil to deep fry/cook
- Tomato ketchup
- White pepper powder
Prep time 15 minutes; Cooking time 15 minutes
To Thaw
Transfer the prawns from the package into a polybag and drill some holes into it. Then keep it in the water at room temperature for 20 minutes. Another way of thawing the prawns could be without the polybag as well.
Marinate
The prawns need to be marinated with salt, sugar, egg and white vinegar for 15 minutes.
Cooking
Deep fry the prawns till you see them as ‘C’ shaped. In another wok/kadhai heat a little oil. Add tomato ketchup, white pepper powder, sugar, salt, white vinegar, water and cook. Add a little corn starch slurry to thicken the sauce and return the prawns to the wok. Toss in the wok with the sauce and serve by garnishing with chopped scallions.
Easy as you like and tastes amazing. Thanks for stopping by!

Sorry to disappoint you since the image is from Pexels and not what I made it as. However, must recommend the recipe as it isn’t too time consuming and who doesn’t like prawns?
