2 Finals before the finale

The love affair with Man United goes back almost two decades and I hope that I pass on the craze and loyalty to my son as well. The season is coming to a close and it’s about two league matches which would decide whether United plays in the Champions League next year or not. Only two out of Manchester United, Chelsea and Leicester City would make the final places and it makes for intriguing viewing before the league comes to a wrap for European competitions.

United were disappointed considering their 19-match unbeaten streak came to an end against Chelsea in the FA Cup with the gaffer making five changes to the line up which didn’t bore fruition. Manchester play at West Ham tomorrow at the London Stadium while fellow contenders for the top-four Chelsea are at Liverpool with the season culminating with United playing at Leicester for a cracking finale.

I am a pessimist when it comes to Manchester United’s chances but the team is coming together nicely with the addition of Bruno Fernandez. Defensively, we are at odds with question marks at left-back and central defense with injuries to Luke Shaw and Eric Bailly. David De Gea with his howlers against Chelsea also doesn’t bode well though David is a consummate professional and should come through.

The front three comprising Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, and Mason Greenwood will give a run for the money to any team and Mason is in line for an improved contract of 40,000 quid per week up from 800 pounds a week that he was getting till a few months back. United also has an abundance of riches in the holding midfielder’s role with Paugba, Matic, Fred, and Scott Mctominay all pitching in with aplomb. Would be interesting to see who gets the nod for the partnership in the middle of the park.

United have a realistic shot at the top-four and only time will tell if the Europa League can also be viable eventually but I have my fingers crossed for GLORY GLORY MAN UNITED! GLORY GLORY MAN UNITED!!!
